Lenalidomide (Revlimid) is used to treat certain types of myelodysplastic syndrome. Which is a disorder caused due to the poorly formed or unhealthy blood cells in the bone marrow? Since these blood cells do not mature they would always remain unhealthy and cause a lot of health issues.

“Revlimid” is also used in the treatment of multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. Although there were several other drugs that were invented to treat the patients suffering from myeloma, this particular medicine was found to be more effective than the others.

Dosage Lenalidomide

These tablets are available in the dosages of 2.5 mg, 5mg, 10mg, 15mg, and 25mg.

  1. The dosages vary depending on the symptoms found in the patients.
  2. 10mg of this medicine would be prescribed to patients diagnosed with Thrombocytopenia within and at times after four weeks.
  3. Patients suffering from Thrombocytopenia after four weeks would be recommended with 5 mg of medicine and this is again based on the discretion of the doctor and also on the platelet count.
  4. Suffering from Neutropenia would be given 10 mg and may reduce to 5mg based on the test results after 4 weeks.
  5. Patients diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma would usually be prescribed with 25mg in combination with dexamethasone for 21 days and on 28 days repeated cycles. The initial dosage would be 10mg and it may vary based on the symptoms and also the condition of the patients.
